Broaching the delicate topic of mental health.

A stressful situation leads to an overactive mind. It causes anxiety, which in turn affects sleep patterns and creates insomnia. Insomnia leads to fatigue which causes excessive cravings, an intake of caffeine or other substances to compensate, creating a vicious circle which can be difficult to escape. It can be sustained for months or even years, but in time it could lead to more serious mental and physical conditions.

Mental health diagnoses have become prevalent. The age-old stigma around mental health seems to have gone full circle and nowadays everyone seems to be self-diagnosing to try to understand their idiosyncrasies. The information on the internet can be overwhelming and even anxiety-inducing. In western medicine, the typical approach is to try to find the most accurate diagnosis and thereby the medication most likely to provide symptomatic relief.

When we take a holistic approach, the exact diagnosis, though useful, becomes peripheral, since we understand that every mental health issue is a sign that the system is not fully in balance, and we can start taking small steps toward change which in time will calm the mind and allow a more balanced approach to life.

Kinesiology provides an excellent tool for directly targeting mental health imbalances.

Even a few kinesiology treatments can lead to significant shifts. Often mental health issues start as a trauma response. Kinesiology utilises muscle testing to accurately identify the root cause of distress. By utilising techniques such as emotional freedom technique (EFT) and emotional stress release (ESR), we can gently let go of past traumas and other issues that don’t serve us anymore, bringing our minds back in balance.
